Mental Health Expo & Out of the Shadows Walk
MENTAL HEALTH EXPO – Community Organisations invited to present their services.
Jaies Journey Inc is holding its 2nd annual Mental Health Expo on Sunday – September 10th – World Wide Suicide Prevention Day.
Day kicks off with the Lifeline – Out of the Shadows’ walk, meeting at the Apex Park (across from Tooan Tooan Creek) on the Esplanade @ 5.30am.
This walk takes about 20-30 minutes and we walk into the light of a new day.
Expo starts at 9am so folks can set up their displays and to give everyone a breather after the Shadow walk.
Details ~ COMMUNITY STALL Holders & VOLUNTEERS are needed.
Please PM page if you believe you can attend to help.
There will be a screening process for any interested people for volunteering …
This is a sensitive subject and everyone’s wellbeing is very important. Including our volunteers.
September 10th every year is now the Worldwide Suicide Prevention Day.
This day is held to promote awareness about suicide and the impact suicide has on our communities.
It is to promote support and validation for those struggling with depression and suicidal thoughts, or people bereaved by suicide.
With the support of Roses In The Ocean and the Qld Mental Health Commission, Jaie’s Journey Inc is holding an event near you.
Any businesses, community organisations, support services are invited to contact us, so we can organise your attending this event and your business/organisation being represented by holding a stall on the day.
Jaie’s Journey is accepting applications for sponsorship, any items or services for lucky door prizes and raffles, EOI for potential presentations (after viewing and suitability is determined as children and vulnerable folk will be present).
Please bear in mind the event will be geared toward a family fun day to assist in opening up conversations within the community and families.
Please feel free to share and accept the invite to this event .
All are welcome.
