Friday nights Food and Groove Scene is about to get festive!

A star-studded local line-up, family fun and a fabulous array of food will mark the return of next Friday’s jovial event.

Condy Park’s Early Learning Centre is setting the benchmark high for festive fun this month, with the creation of a Christmas Village packed with a wide range of family-friendly activities to do, including children’s crafts, face painting and a story corner.
Santa will make a special appearance on the night, giving locals the chance to get their festive photos, while the lighting of Fraser Coast Council’s spectacular Christmas tree will be a showstopper, with mayor George Seymour lighting the tree, between 6:30pm – 7pm.
Headlining act and polished four-piece band V.I.Party will perform classic hits from the 70’s right through to hits from today in a vibrant show the good time band are committed to getting the crowd grooving!

Supporting act Derek F. Smith will shake up the food scene with a wide range of songs inspired by artists including Counting Crows, Mumford and Sons, Matchbox 20 and Green Day, with a mix of original songs including his debut EP ‘Enlightened Monkey’.

Derek’s accolades include winning the 2017 SeaFM Battle of Sound, 2016 Most Popular Vocalist – Toyota Feeling the Street International Music Competition, and 2015 Spirit of Bundaberg Battle of the Bands.

A Christmas bauble installation will set a joyful scene for festival-goers to take their Christmas snaps, along with stalls showcasing a large range of regional crafts, including gifts and homewares and a delicious range of mouth-watering foods.
Held on the first Friday in December then weekly in January, Fraser Coast Tourism & Events Manager Robyn Peach said “Food n Groove Fridays offers locals and visitors to the region an opportunity to come together, enjoy live music, dine on delicious foods, while relaxing or dancing under the stars”.

The event kicks off from 4pm at City Park next Friday, 6 December.
