Great work by the Fraser Coast’s Low’n’Slow BBQ Shack team taking out 1st place in Chicken category, 4th place in pork ribs category, and 5th place overall in challenging conditions at Kingaroy BaconFest Smoke-Off BBQ Competition on the weekend.
Really pleased we were able to bring home the bacon to the Fraser Coast.
The national sport of low and slow barbecue is really booming in Australia. Two competitions were held in Queensland last weekend, one at Kingaroy and one at Burleigh, as part of the Australian Barbecue Alliance national competition. The Kingaroy Baconfest Smoke-Off included teams from the very top of the 2018 national competition leaderboard.
The Hervey Bay round of the national comp is coming up on the Australia Day long weekend at the Kondari Hotel, more details to follow.
