RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Needs YOU!

Here on the Fraser Coast we are used to hearing the buzz of the LifeFlight helicopter on an all too regular basis, but did you know that an average mission costs around $12,500, even with government funding this results in a huge shortfall that can only be made up with the help of volunteers. In our region alone there were over 340 airlifts in the last financial year!

That was why it was great to meet RACQ’s LifeFlight Rescue’s Fundraising Coordinator for the North Coast region, Mandy Hentschel, and Community fundraising manager, Jodi Durkin in Hervey Bay this morning as part of LifeFlight’s Volunteer Recruitment Drive. About twenty people came along to find out how they could help.

With the construction of a new aeromedical base in Bundaberg, to be completed next year – the need for fundraising volunteers will be even greater, so now is the perfect time to sign up. The organisation itself consists of twelve rescue helicopters as well as three air ambulance jets. Spread over eleven locations LifeFlight certainly has a great reach.

How you can help:

General Administration

As a Speaker

Placing donation tin and collection

Event Support

So if you live in Hervey Bay, and have wanted to volunteer for a worthwhile cause, LifeFlight would like to hear from YOU!
