The Fraser Lions Pier Festival

The Fraser Lions Pier Festival

The Fraser Lions Club Inc was chartered in May 1986.  Around that time there was big talk of the Pier being fully demolished, the Fraser Lions became involved with the Save the Pier Group and with the running of the barbecue for the rally of follower’s in September of that year, as a result only the head of the Pier was demolished. This was the commencement of the Pier Festival and this year the event moves into its 33rd year.

Come one, come all to the Fraser Lions Pier Festival and join in the fun for the day.  There will be Merry Go Rounds and rides, food and craft stalls with a Flea Market atmosphere. Why not try your luck on the Lucky Spinning Wheel, and for the younger ones – a couple of young dinosaurs will keep the kids occupied during the day, as will the Jumping Castle and other activities planned for the day.

The Boat Club Fishing and Social Club will be running a Fishing Competition that will commence at 6am, with the live weigh-in starting then and closing at 11am.  Eligible species are whiting, bream flathead, pike and gar and the presentation of prizes commence at 1.30pm.  Come along and enter the Fishing Competition with a chance of winning a prize.

The Fraser Lions Club supplies most of the food on the day and are noted for the most scrumptious burgers and the best hot chips, they have also introduced a combo pack with chicken and chips.

Stalls are still available and if you haven’t already sent your application form in go to www.fraserlions.org and download an application form or phone Lawrie West on 0448 358 289
