MARYBOROUGH WOOD & CRAFT EXPO 2019
Do you have someone who is hard to buy gifts for? Maybe you’re looking for something unique that you just can’t buy in any of the major retail stores. Or you might be looking for a new hobby.
The answer could be as simple as a visit to our Wood & Craft Expo on Saturday 13 July 2019 being held by the Maryborough Woodturners and Woodcraftsmen Guild Inc. at the Maryborough Showgrounds, Bruce Highway Qld. The Expo will run from 9am until 3pm.
Visitors will be able to view displays and demonstrations of woodturning, woodcarving, scroll saw work, pyrography and wood finishing/sanding. Special guest Marilyn Kunde will explore the many and varied pitfalls that are often found on the path of every woodworker. Areas to be covered will focus on timber flaws and rectification, sanding processes and finishing.
The Woodcraft Pavilion will house woodturning demonstrations and a display of the finer examples of guild members’ craft, as well as offering a range of their woodwork items for sale.
Other Pavilions will be jam-packed with craft displays and sale such as Van Cootens patchwork and fabrics supplies, Tamika’s glass engraving, Spinners and Weavers and Maryborough Heritage Crafts, and Blue Unicorn Crafts.
For the woodworker needing material for that special project, slabs of timber, as well as turning blanks of camphor laurel, silky oak, mango, and bunya pine, will be on sale at very reasonable prices. David Drescher will have his mobile showroom displaying all types of woodworking machinery and accessories. Also, Jelly Shake Timber & Design will be in attendance with a huge range of material for that special project.
A sausage sizzle will be operating, soft drinks, tea, coffee, sandwiches and cakes also on sale. A raffle with multiple prizes will be drawn during the day. Admission is free.
