Margate Guitar Trio presents an intimate afternoon of classical guitar at Gatakers Creative Space.
Experience a captivating evening of classical guitar mastery. The concert is a celebration of the classical guitar and reflects the trio’s mutual love of their instrument and its music. The concert features some of the trio’s favourite works including exhilarating music from Spain, Paraguay, and Australia alongside passionate works reflecting the rich traditions of Brazilian folk and classical music.
The Margate Guitar Trio is a Brisbane-based group established in late 2022.
Having international careers as both soloists and chamber musicians the trio features renowned Australian classical guitarists Emma Shay, Hamish Strathdee, and Adrian Roll. The Margate Guitar Trio is prepared to embark on their scheduled East Coast tour in November and are excited to be performing at Maryborough’s Gatakers Artspace on the 19th.
Feel the rhythm and lyricism from Brazil, with music by Pixinguinha, Nazareth, and Mignone. Enjoy a flamenco-inspired repertoire by Enrique Granados and Francisco Tarrega. Experience the rich heritage of Paraguayan folk music through Agustín Barrios and Australian music by Ross Edward and Paul Svoboda, featuring intricate rhythms and evocative melodies, bound into a captivating contemporary tapestry.
