Rockin’ Maryborough Vintage Festival is two nights and one day of events celebrating all things from the 40s, 50s, 60s & ’70s in and around Maryborough’s Historical Town Hall.
The Festival opens on Friday night, August 31, at 7 pm with the Rockin’ Maryborough Vintage Festival Spring Ball in Town Hall, featuring Buddy Love and the Tremors. With elegance and old-world-charm in abundance, the 110-year-old hall will spring into bloom with decoration provided by The Prop People. Dress to impress in your springtime best and dance the night away to all your favourite rock’n’roll classics of the 50s, 60s & 70s. There’ll be a photographer on hand to capture all the action. A light supper, provided by St Paul’s Parish, will be served and bar services will be available. There will be lucky door prizes, raffles, and much more. Saturday, September 1 is the Rockin’ Maryborough Vintage Festival Family Fun Day from 9am until 4pm, in and around Town Hall from the Bauer & Wiles memorial fountain to Town Hall Green and down Adelaide St to St Paul’s Parish.
This family fun day is free to enter and is ideal for all ages and abilities with something for everyone.
The heritage city’s CDB will step back in time with The RMVF Vintage Show’n’Shine for pre-1978 cars, caravans and motorbikes.
On the Adelaide St Dance Stage, opposite Parkside on Adelaide, The Zephyr Project & DeeJay Jimmy Dee provide the jive as the crowd dances in the street.
From Town Hall Green to the Fountain on Lennox St market stalls will be selling the very best vintage, pinup and rockabilly paraphernalia, there will also be kids rides and amusements.
The Pinup competitions begin with Little Miss & Little Master at 9.30am at the iconic Town Hall columns, before moving inside the hall for Miss Teen Rockin’ Maryborough at 11.15am and Miss Rockin’ Maryborough at 1.30pm.
Darling & the Midnight Delights will play inside the hall in-between, bringing their popular style of retro revival that is perfect for serious dancers, bar services will be available.
There will be a RMVF Mini Hotrod Competition from primary school aged groups (presented at 10.15am) and The Maryborough & District Animal Refuge presents Pooches on Parade at 12.30pm, both events are not to be missed.
Bring a picnic or take advantage of the inner-city location with restaurants, cafes & eateries aplenty. For those looking for value and comfort there’s St Paul’s Parish Hall’s Devonshire Tea or, for that naughty rockin’ tibble, why not pop in to Cottage Connection Florist for their special Rockin’ Decadence Package, where you’ll enjoy a refreshing glass of sweet sparkling wine as you select from gourmet chocolates to take away (18+ only).

The festival wraps up with the Rockin’ Maryborough Vintage Festival Rockabilly Dance in town Hall at 7pm featuring A Band Called Twang. Once again a bar service will be available. There will also be a Sausage sizzle and hot dogs available for purchase. All proceeds of sales go to Rainbow Prince, funding lifesaving veterinary surgery for Maryborough and District Animal Refuge’s abandoned pets.
