Did you know that something as simple as becoming a beekeeper can help save our planet from destruction?
Albert Einstein predicted: If the bee disappeared off the surface of the globe, then man would have only four years of life left. No more bees, no more pollination, no more plants, no more animals, no more man.
Bees have been a part of Chris Hall’s life for a long time and he is super keen to meet up with other Beeks. People like Chris and his mate, Neil, are doing their part as beekeepers and to further their vision recently formed a bee club in the Hervey Bay area called Fraser Coast Beekeepers.
Chris said, “We want to keep the group as informal as possible and we aren’t interested in the formalities such as meetings, minutes and added costs associated with many clubs”.
Of course, the topic each month will be bees, bees and more bees which is not really surprising.
“Our first field day on the 14th September at Toogoom was a great success and we look forward to many more,” said Chris. For the field days, Chris asks that you please bring your own protective gear. All other tools will be provided for disease control.
Prospective beekeepers are very welcome to attend the field days, and all are asked to bring something to share with a cuppa.
